The Evelyn M. Clar Papers, 1912-1993, consist of records pertaining to Clar's work with various California organizations. The bulk of the records relate to her work with the League of Women Voters of California. Evelyn Mickelberry Clar was born on February 3, 1908, in Fresno, California. She grew up in Bakersfield, California, and graduated from Kern Union High School in 1924. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1929 with an A.B. degree in geography. A long-time resident of Sacramento, she was married to C.
